What we collect

When you send an enquiry or apply

The details you enter in our forms: your name, email address, mobile number, organisation or institute (optional), your message, and, where relevant, your role, preferred consultation slot, or the internship or job you are applying for.

When you sign in with Google

Signing in is optional, except to view internship and job postings. When you sign in, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us. We do not receive your Google password.

What you view on the site

• Everyone: when you play a video or open an article, PDF or job link, we record which item it was, the page, the time, and a random identifier for your visit. This does not identify you, and we do not store your IP address with it.
• Signed-in members: the same events are linked to your member account, so we can show your progress (for example, which parts of a video series you have watched).

How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry, schedule consultations and process applications.
• To show members their progress and continue where they left off.
• To understand which content is useful, in aggregate, and improve our programmes.

We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

Who processes it

• Our own backend systems, hosted on Google Cloud, which store enquiries, member accounts and viewing activity.
• Google, to sign you in (Google Identity Services).
• YouTube, when you press play on a video. Videos load from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain, and YouTube's own policies apply once a video plays.
• Internship and job postings are shared from the ideaWorks app, an IRDC Labs product.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and member data for as long as needed for the purposes above, and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed or when you ask us to.

Your choices and rights

• You can use the website, watch videos and read articles without signing in.
• You can sign out at any time; this removes the sign-in token from your browser.
• Signed-in members can use Delete my activity data (shown next to Sign out) at any time. This deletes your progress and unlinks your past viewing activity from your account, so it remains only as anonymous view counts.
• You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw your consent, by writing to irdc.lab.india@gmail.com.
